TruMedia Networks Names Former Fenway Sports Group/Boston Red Sox Executive Rafe Anderson as President and Chief Executive Officer
TruMedia Networks, a developer of social media technologies focused on building communities of sports fans on a local and regional level, today announced that Rafe Anderson has been named the company's President and Chief Executive Officer. Anderson will oversee all aspects of TruMedia's day-to-day operations from product and market development to fundraising and operations. Anderson joins TruMedia with more than ten years of digital media and sports marketing experience having spent the last six years with Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and The Boston Red Sox.
"Just as all-sports radio, television, and Web programming have fueled a new chapter of industry growth over the last 25 years, social media technologies hold the same promise today," said Anderson. "Online social networking is a concept that has been proven on a global level. The model is an ideal fit for the sports vertical, and becomes especially powerful when focused locally. No one is more passionate or engaged than the hometown sports fan."
"We are fortunate to be able to launch this company under Rafe's leadership," said Ozzie Alvarez, Chairman of TruMedia. "His diverse digital media and sports marketing experience make him the ideal fit to establish this company in this dynamic market."
Prior to joining TruMedia, Anderson served as Director of Business Development at FSG. In his tenure with FSG, he was responsible for identifying and analyzing new business opportunities for FSG and its clients. Following FSG's investment in Roush Fenway Racing, NASCAR's largest and most successful racing team, Anderson was responsible for integrating the business development efforts between Fenway Sports Group and Roush Fenway Racing as well as developing a digital media and online marketing strategy for the racing team.
Before FSG, Anderson worked for The Boston Red Sox focusing on the club's digital media initiatives. There he was part of a team that implemented the Red Sox first-ever secondary online ticket market, Red Sox Replay. Anderson also played a key role in developing the sales and marketing strategy for the team's inaugural online fan club, Red Sox Nation, MLB's largest team fan club.
